DXPlot - Industrial Plotter/Cutter Control Software
[Home] [Software] [Documentation] [Downloads] [Contact Us]

Convert and optimise your DXF, HPGL and VectorWorks Text drawing files for later output to HPGL and other ascii controlled plotters or industrial cutters. Affordably priced at around US$200.

DXBridge is a Windows-based program that reads DXF, HPGL and VectorScript text files written by most CAD packages, and optimises them. DXBridge shares most of the features and facilities of DXPlot except the converted drawings are saved to a file rather than directly sent to a machine via the RS232 ports. See DXBridge vs DXPlot for a complete list of differences.

This is a view of the DXBridge's Preview Window with a drawing that has been loaded and automatically divided into three separate tools. The Yellow, Green and Red lines represent the different output pens or tools.

To save the drawing to an output file simply click the Save Button.

DXBRIDGE FEATURE SUMMARY

  • Separates a drawing into parts for each tool (e.g. pen or cutter) according to the Thickness, Colour or Layer of an object. Up to ten different output tools are supported.

  • Displays the converted drawing on screen.

  • Optimises the drawing by joining lines whose end points meet and by minimising "pen up" movements.

  • Smoothes polylines for the "fairest" curves on large plots. Optionally convert polylines to arcs for faster, smoother plotting/cutting.

  • Save and reload load different configuration set-ups using a long descriptive names.

  • Design-specific information in a drawing (such as dimension lines, borders or descriptive text) can be left in the drawing and automatically hidden at plot time.

  • Offset the start position by simply dragging the drawing in the Window.

  • Have DXBridge run as a background task that monitors your CAD output files. As soon as you save a new DXF, HPGL or VectorWorks text file, DXBridge will automatically load, optimise and display the drawing. You can then save the updated drawing back to a file.

  • Parameter driven and user definable Output Commands allow DXBridge to be configured to output almost any text based file format. DXBridge shares that same user definable output driver format as DXPlot. Drivers can be created and edited in a separate, easy to use, program called Machset.exe. Please refer to the Machset manual for details on using this program. DXBridge is supplied with a standard HPGL output driver.

  • Try it out for FREE by downloading a fully functional evaluation version that you can run for 30 days. If you choose to buy, you can be registered on-line. Simply enter your user number for all restrictions to be removed.

DXBridge vs DXPlot

DXBridge contains the same functionality as DXPlot except for the following:

  1. Output to file only rather than directly to a machine via an RS232 link.
  2. Machine related commands have been removed or disabled.
  3. Frames are not supported.
  4. The "Plot From" function is not available.
  5. Only one Driver File is supported (DXBridge.pld). As supplied, this is setup for HPGL output commands but can be changed manually or using DXPlot's Machset.exe program to setup other command output formats.
